Based on photographic evidence, even less happened in March than in February, and I can't really remember anything noteworthy. I'm pretty sure that Eddie went to visit his cousins in Virginia in March, but I don't have any good photos of that. Also, it may have been in April. Who knows, really.

Here's one photo, taken to show Morgan how huge the curb in front of Eddie's school is.

February
Nothing interesting happened in February. (Except for one thing, but I'm not blogging about it in this post. Ha!) Here's some pictures anyway.

We've had a very eventful week. So eventful that I want to blog about it. But I feel like I can't talk about the past week without talking about the past four months. This is the first of four posts, broken down by month mostly because it makes inserting the photos easier.

January
On the first, Eddie turned 4. Mid-way through the day he asked when he'd be four an a half. He has recently been telling me about different events that happened to him at different ages. Things that happened this year always start with, "When I was four." Here's some birthday pictures. For more awesome pics from the family birthday celebration, check out my sister-in-law's blog.

Towards the middle of the month, he went in for his four-year check-up. As far as I can remember, it was boring. He can see and hear. He had grown at the rate that was expected, sticking in the 3rd percentile range for weight and height (I think.) He may or may not have gotten shots. I think he did. I really don't remember. No pictures were taken, as that would just be weird.

At the end of the month, we had his IEP (Individual Education Plan) meeting with the occupational therapist, speech therapist, and special education teacher that see him through the public school Skill Builders class. For the first 10 minutes, the therapist kept going on about how smart Eddie is. Part of me is proud (OBVIOUSLY he's the most brilliant 4-year-old ever), and the other part of me thinks "yeah, but you only work with special ed kids." So, we'll take it for what it's worth. All in all, he is doing well enough with his goals. Their biggest concerns that he talks to and relates far better to adults than to kids, and that he's very particular when doing his work, resulting in frustration and being the last one to finish. I have no idea where those traits came from. (Cough.) I also got a chance to ask what to expect in the future. In the upcoming school year, they were expecting him to stick with the Skill Builders class, where they could continue to work on peer relationships. As far as kindergarden goes, the speech therapist sees him being pulled out of class once or twice enough for group therapy, again, to work on the peer stuff. The occupational therapist doesn't see him needing any therapy beyond consultation with his teacher. All in all, it was a good meeting. Again, no pictures, because that would have been even creepier.

To be continued...

I guess there is some updating that needs to happen before people start receiving their New Years (yes, New Years, not Christmas) cards.

So, where did we leave off? Endocrinologist. Right. We got the lab results, and while the celiac and growth hormone stuff came back normal (yay!), there was some suggestion that he may have mild hypothyroidism. Interesting, because we thought there was a possibility of hyperthyroidism. The expected cause was autoimmune hypothyroidism, and the thyroid test and a few others needed to be done to confirm. When the results from those labs came back, the thyroid hormone was still a bit off, but not enough to treat and no indication of autoimmune disease, so we just leave it be. We'll follow-up in 6 months.

Other than that, there was Halloween. We went out with Eddie's friend Elise again. They were cute.

A little bit after that, we went up to a cabin in the mountains for Thanksgiving. It was lovely.

While we were in the mountains, Mark ran his first 5K.

Earlier this month, we went back to the eye doctor to see about getting the tear duct tubes removed. Turns out they had fallen out on their own, and things are looking great. We'll go back in a year for a follow-up.

And after that? Christmas. Eddie got a Batcave, see?

Okay, I think we're up to date now!

More photos from the past three months have been added to gratefulgrateful.shutterfly.com.
